High-Speed EV Charger Installation

Stop waiting 24 hours for a trickle charge. Ready Electric deploys master electricians to engineer, permit, and install high-capacity Level 2 EV charging stations for Tesla, Rivian, and all modern electric vehicles.

Diagnostic Warning: Unverified Installs

Pushing 48 continuous amps into a vehicle creates massive thermal stress. Ready Electric identifies the severe hazards of DIY or handyman EV charger installations.

THERMAL RUNAWAY

Melted NEMA Plugs

Using cheap, residential-grade NEMA 14-50 outlets for EV charging leads to melted plastic, destroyed charger cables, and active wall fires due to sustained high-amperage draw.

GRID OVERLOAD

Main Panel Failure

Adding a 50-amp charger to an already maxed-out 100-amp electrical panel without a proper Ready Electric load calculation will cause catastrophic main breaker failure.

CODE VIOLATION

Unpermitted Work

Installing a 240V circuit without pulling a city permit is illegal. If a fire occurs from unpermitted work, your homeowner's insurance policy will deny the claim immediately.

WARRANTY VOIDED

Improper Grounding

Tesla and Rivian can remotely monitor your charging voltage. If they detect improper grounding or voltage drops from poor wiring, they will void your vehicle's battery warranty.

System Database: Ready Electric FAQs

Do I need to upgrade my electrical panel for an EV charger?
Not always. A Level 2 charger requires a dedicated 240V circuit (typically 40-60 amps). If you have a 100-amp main panel, adding a charger will likely overload it. Ready Electric conducts a strict Load Calculation during our diagnostic visit to determine if an upgrade or a smart load-management device is required.
Should I choose a hardwired charger or a NEMA 14-50 plug?
Ready Electric highly recommends Hardwiring. It is safer, eliminates the risk of melted plastic plugs, and allows for faster charging speeds (up to 48 amps). A NEMA 14-50 plug limits you to 40 amps and requires an expensive GFCI breaker by modern code, though it does allow you to easily unplug and move the charger later.
Do I need a city permit to install an EV charger in LA?
Yes. Installing a 240V circuit is major electrical work requiring a permit and city inspection. Unpermitted work is hazardous and will void your vehicle warranty and homeowner's insurance. Ready Electric handles the entire permitting process for you.
